a little about me...
I guess you could say I started photography at a young age; I used to set up "photoshoots" in the basement of my childhood home and run around with disposable cameras during family holidays. I took my first photography class in 8th grade and won a photo contest with a photo of a dandelion.
I've been a creative kid forever: a lifelong doodler, band kid, and yes, I went to art camp. Being so involved as an artist and mediocre clarinet player, I tried hard to find one thing I could really focus on and excel at. I started taking photos consistently while working my marching band staff job, got started doing senior portraits, my parents gifted me my first real camera and I was absolutely hooked from there. Now, my full-time gig is social media in college athletics, but photography will always be what started it all.
My favorite pictures to take are candids, personality pics, or natural smiles and laughs. It's rare to see real joy, so I love to capture it. My favorite part of the photography process (besides the actual shoot!) is editing, because it is so rewarding to see a photo go from the back of the camera to the screen and come full circle to complete the vision.
I specialize in senior sessions, college grads, couples, lifestyle shoots, weddings, fine arts and sports photography, as well as product shoots. I graduated from the University of Kentucky with my undergrad and Masters. In July 2021, I wrapped up six years on Staff and three years as the photographer and social media manager for the West Catholic High School Marching Band - a job that I hold very close to my heart.
We all have a story to tell and I can't wait to hear yours!
